Music Director. Claudia Carawan
Claudia Carawan has been Music Director at Unity Christ Church of Bon Air for over 5 years and has been a professional musician most of her life. She is a
recording artist and vocalist, an instrumentalist ( piano & alto sax) and a songwriter. Her voice has been heard on radio and television. In recent years, Claudia has been moved to take a "leap of faith" by recording her first CD
Out of the Blue and she has received rave reviews as well as radio air play of her original songs.
She is a graduate of the music program at Virginia Commonwealth University and has studied Jazz at University of Massachusetts in Amherst. Claudia also works part-time as a Music Teacher at the Charterhouse School, which serves "at-risk" students, where she inspires students to discover and develop their creative abilities. "I see first-hand how music and the arts can build self-confidence and transform the lives of the children I work with" says Claudia about her work with the students. Claudia is blessed with a wonderful husband and a beautiful daughter.

The Music Program at Unity Christ Church of Bon Air is a dynamic, creative force which supports and reflects the Unity principles using the language of music. The mission of our music program is to provide music that is spiritually enriching and inspiring. We feature a diverse variety of musical styles ranging from pop, inspirational, jazz, bluegrass, new age and classical, but the overall format is contemporary. Weekly, our services feature professional performers from the surrounding community. Musically, we strive to match and enhance the minister or guest speaker's theme.
